Why Choose VCRM?
"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit", as Aristotle wrote many centuries ago. At VCRM, we take Aristotle's message to heart. We offer excellence in a small, boutique setting. The result is that you are in the best of hands. You are treated with respect and sensitivity, while being provided the benefits of the latest technological advances. Each time, you will see the same doctor and the same nurses. This is how excellence is achieved as we have done repeatedly by having the highest success rates in the DC area for the past 7 years (and some of the highest in the country). VCRM is truly a place where everyone knows your name and, significantly, your medical case.
Many of our patients have failed at other clinics, and many conceive when they switch to VCRM. Our comprehensive approach, including the latest technologies, gives us an distinct edge over other programs. We also specialize in treating poor responders (Dr Sharara has published extensively on diminished ovarian reserve and poor responders), and have devised ways that may benefit some of these patients. VCRM is the only center in the area to offer blastocyst cycles exclusively (since March 2013). We also conduct clinical research trials that will hopefully improve outcomes for assisted reproduction, and have implemented a successful PGD program.
Dr Sharara, a leader in his field, will perform all your examinations and all the procedures, including each ultrasound monitoring, as well as the egg retrieval and the embryo transfer (compared to other clinics where the nurses or technician performs the ultrasounds and whichever doctor is on duty performs your egg retrieval and/or the embryo transfer procedure). It is not just your comfort level that benefits. This continuity of care contributes to the high success rate of our clinic.
Many competing clinics tell their patients when they ask them about VCRM's success rates that we "cherry pick". We only wish that was the case! If we do "cherry pick" our pregnancy rates would be even higher than what we have now!
Finally, at VCRM, we not only offer all the above-quality care in a caring, hands-on setting at competitive prices-you have the highest likelihood in the entire DC area of taking home a healthy baby after your first cycle. And that, of course, is what this is all about.

We are pleased to report our Clinical Pregnancy Rates for IVF and Donor Oocyte for 2008. VCRM again has the highest rates in the greater DC area for the 5th year in a row (please review the disclaimer about program comparisons at www.sart.org), and possibly the highest success rates in the US. We have achieved our high rates despite replacing the lowest number of embryos in an effort to decrease the incidence of multiple pregnancies. This has resulted in VCRM being selected as one of the Infertility Centers of Excellence Network by United HealthCare (view the members of the Network at www.optumhealth.com). For program comparisons, please check www.sart.org. VCRM has one of the top 10 success rates in the whole country according to www.fertilitysuccessrates.com, and is the ONLY Fertility Center in the Baltimore-Washington-Richmond area to be among the top 25 clinics in the US.
