Dr. Sharara earned his BS in Chemistry (1982) and MD (1986) with honors from the American University of Beirut. He completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at George Washington University Hospital in 1991, followed by a three-year subspecialty fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the prestigious National Institutes of Health (NIH) from 1991 to 1994.

His academic career spans esteemed faculty appointments including Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Associate Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, and his current position as Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at George Washington University.

Unlike large institutional clinics where patients rotate between various physicians, nurses, and rotating on-call staff, VCRM is designed from the ground up as a boutique center. Dr. Sharara conducts initial consultations, performs all monitoring ultrasounds, oversees laboratory stimulation adjustments, and executes every egg retrieval and embryo transfer himself.
